For those chilly mornings and freezing nights,
Make yourself a cup of this chocolate delight!
When it’s cold and you’re craving something to make you feel cozy and warm inside, nothing does the job quite as well as a homemade cup of thick & creamy hot chocolate. All it takes is five minutes of your time and just a few ingredients, like actual, real chocolate instead of that processed powder stuff. It’s become our family tradition to celebrate the first snow of the year with this recipe, and today is that day! Let’s get to it fam!
- 3 cups milk
- ½ cup heavy whipping cream*
- 4 oz. dark chocolate (72%)
- 2 oz. milk chocolate
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup water
- ¼ vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Add the milk, heavy whipping cream, chocolate, honey, water, vanilla extract and pinch of salt to a medium saucepan over medium high heat.
- Whisk until chocolate has melted. Be sure to stir in the corners of the pan as the chocolate will gather around the edges.
*If you don’t have heavy whipping cream you can also substitute with ½ cup of milk.
*If you prefer dark chocolate over milk chocolate or vice versa, the amount and type of chocolate can be changed to suit your preference.
