I first heard about DockATot from another mom. We were discussing baby sleep tips and she mentioned the DockATot had worked for her baby, so I decided to take a look. After a good deal of research, it seemed like the DocATot was more than just a co-sleeper, it was a multifunctional baby station. This was an intriguing product, and so we decided we wanted to get a DockATot for our second baby. Having used it for over a month now, I feel ready to give it a proper review. So, is the DockATot worth the money? In short, yes! For those who want to know more, read on for the full review.
Disclaimer: I received the DockATot for free in exchange for this blog post, however all opinions are my own. Before doing this review we were already planning on buying a DockATot. It is a product I would definitely recommend and I am excited to be able to review it. Note: This post contains affiliate links.
The DockATot is a co-sleeper that is so much more than just a co-sleeper. It is a light, comfy, portable safe space for your baby that works great for sleeping, lounging, and tummy time. The Deluxe+ Dock in this review is for babies between the ages of 0 and 8 months. DockATot also offers a larger Grand Dock that is for ages 9 to 36 months. So, what exactly is a DockATot? Imagine having a soft, cozy, multi use baby station that keeps your baby safe and secure and can be taken anywhere. That is what the DockATot is! Is it the magic cure for getting your baby to always sleep well? No, that is more routine, technique, and a bit of luck. The DockATot is a multifunctional station that can provide your baby with a consistent, comfortable space for sleep, lounging, and play at home and on the go.
There isn’t going to be too much variation in how a baby co-sleeper will look overall, and yet DockATot does manage to stand apart with a modern design that is unique and recognizable. As far as co-sleepers go, it is definitely one of the better looking products out there. Simply put, the DockATot is a great looking co-sleeper. Soft raised sides surround a firm and comfy base resulting in a cozy safe space for your baby. They have a variety of cover designs to choose from, making it easy to find a style that best matches you and baby (having so many nice options does make it harder to finally choose one though!). Well placed zippers allow for easy disassembly and washing. The DockATot is light and easy to carry, with handles on the top and side. There is an adjustable buckle on the end which can be used to open or close the bottom portion where baby’s feet go, creating space for your baby as they grow bigger.
MATERIALS & SAFETY
For me, one of the most important factors in determining whether a baby product is worth your time or not is knowing what it is made of and if it is safe for your baby. This is what Feel Good Fam is all about: Feeling good about the choices you make for your family. When it comes to buying the right baby products, it is not as simple as looking for an organic label, because that organic certification often only refers to some of the components that make up the product, but not the product as a whole. Many brands are also vague on details of the makeup and safety of their products, adding confusion and uncertainty when you just want to be a good mom and make the best, informed decisions when buying products for your baby. Thankfully, DockATot is not one of those brands, in fact they are very transparent on the importance of using components that are tested and certified as safe for babies. Each and every part of a DockATot dock – from the fibers to the zippers to the buckles – complies with the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 Class 1 certification. This goes far beyond a vague “organic” label found on other products. DockATot has a great blog post detailing the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 Class 1 certification as well as information on organic labeling of baby products. I highly recommend giving it a read!
PROS & CONS
Pro: Peace of Mind. Every part that makes up a DockATot is tested and certified to be safe for babies using the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 Class 1 certification. Safety is the most important factor when I consider buying products for my baby, and DockATot’s transparency here is appreciated.
Pro: Easy to wash. The cover zips off easily for washing and care. I particularly liked that it was also easy to put the cover back on, something that can’t be said for some other baby products.
Pro: Portable. The DockATot is light and easy to carry thanks to the well placed handles. I have no trouble carrying my baby and the DockATot in one go while moving from one place to another. This portability also means my baby gets a consistent experience wherever I am. Consistency is great for babies sleeping well.
Pro: Stylish. The DockATot looks great, and also has a variety of cover designs to choose from. Having options is always good, and having a product that looks (and is) well made is also great.
Con: Pricey. There’s no getting around it; it’s not the most affordable co-sleeper by any stretch. However, I am a true believer in the phrase “You get what you pay for.” The DockATot is a quality product that I ultimately feel is worth the money.
After being able to use the DockATot for a good amount of time now, I would say it is a product that I would definitely recommend getting. It checks off all the right boxes for health conscious moms looking for a multi use co-sleeper for their baby. It is pricey but the comfort and safety of your baby is not something to discount. The DockATot Deluxe+ has become one of the most frequently used and essential products for my baby. It is definitely something that should be on every mom’s registry! So head on over to DockATot’s site and take a look at the Deluxe+.
